Redwood Heights, Illinois; [/u] Redwood Heights was probably the most overlooked town in all of northern Illinois. Nothing special ever happened. There weren’t any nationally famous restaurants, the schools were unremarkable, and the people even more so. The town seemed to live in a standstill, never changing from year to year. People moved about their daily lives and children played but nothing exciting every happened.
For years, it went unnoticed by the outside world as people would just give a confused stare if the name was ever mentioned. Nothing made Redwood Heights special and that is what made it the perfect subject for a test run of Project H. What hadn’t been expected was for Project H to turn this town into not only remarkable but very dangerous.
Project H was an exploration into human genetics and evolution. Time was moving too slowly to properly examine human mutation, so a group decided to accelerate the process slightly. An undetectable chemical was introduced into the water supply of the citizens and at first, there were no noticeable results. Maybe humans were not meant to evolve and the chemical did nothing.
The researchers declared Project H a failure after six months of observation. That was in the winter of 2012. June 3, 2013 was the first appearance of mutation. Strange activities have been reported in Redwood Heights, unexplained phenomena that have left the police baffled. Has this been the result of Project H?
